The SDS system is the safest and most effective method of egressing from the Derrick tubing board or rod basket. It provides the Derrick Man a hands-free, "A-B-C" approach to a safe descent. The Safe Descent Device provides a controlled descent in escape situations while doubling as a bi-directional rescue device in the case of injury.
